Qualifications:

• State of CT Head Teacher
• AMS Certified 3-6 Montessori Teacher.
• Assistant teacher in a Trumbull nursery school (Worked alongside a head teacher of a toddler classroom)
• Taught the program's afternoon classes for three and four year olds
• Achieved AMS certification from Northeast Montessori Institute (NMI) as primary (3-6) Montessori teacher
• Candidate for a BS degree in Early Childhood Education.

About me:

Mrs. Kier began her career with NESM in the fall of 2001. She was originally hired to head the After School Program as Program Coordinator which lead to Mrs. Kier substituting in the Montessori classrooms. It was then that she realized that the Montessori philosophy was her calling. In the summer of 2003 Mrs. Kier attended NMI in Massachusetts where she received her AMS 3 - 6 certification. Mrs. Kier continues her education in Early Childhood and Special Ed. She is as enthusiastic today as the day she first caught the "Montessori bug" and remains a strong member of our staff community. She is a wife and a mother of twin girls who are now one year old.  When Mrs. Kier is not here at NESM she enjoys spending as much time with her family as possible.  She also is a true animal lover and owner of a Shitzu dog named Buca.  Mrs. Kier is a passionate cook and creative projects developer at home.

• 1974 – 2005 Owner/Director/Head Teacher – Anderson Montessori School – Danbury CT

• 2005 -2006: Assistant Teacher – Montessori School of Redding CT

About me:

Mother of three wonderful ‘twenty-something’ children, Danielle, Christopher, & Rebecca.  Companion to sweet white fluffy Bichon Frise named Benny.  In her leisure time she enjoys walking, going to the gym, reading, handcrafting/writing ABC books, & needlework.
